It's painful how the current church has deliberately left most of the foundation teachings of character molding and life building principles. One of such is the QUIET TIME. I will be brief in response to someone's request.
Please note that quiet time is not a prayer time, study or worship session. It's just as the name implies: QUIET! It's usually sweet to observe it after your prayer time and study time. The only thing you do in quiet time is to remain quiet before the Lord! No words, no agitation in the mind, no haste, no disturbance, no alarm, no calls, no knock, just QUIET! Fix your slippery mind on what you studied and stay put in meditation! That's when Holy Spirit whispers mind blowing thoughts, ground breaking ideas, deep revelations. If you don't do it at least 30mins in a day, you will live a shallow spiritual life! That's when the screw of conviction is driven through the hinges of our hearts!
As a minister, your message may have endless points, long quotable quotes, smooth verses, pitched diction and sporadic motivation but it will never provoke people's spirits where real changes happen!
So, if you observe your prayer time, study time or worship session, it doesn't mean you have had your quiet time!
You will get THERE!
